Has a book ever changed your life?

I once read a book to my son titled, "If You Lived With The Sioux Indians". It explained that children of the tribe carried a lot of responsibility for caring for the families animals, etc. Oddly enough, it changed how I raised my kids, because it made me realize that children can rise to a challenge and handle more than most parents realize.
