Bird and cat questions?

I have a cat and 2 canaries, i have found as long as the cats food dish is full he is less likely to har the birds, also you could try setting up a bird feeder in the window for the cat, kind of like a diversion. i t is instinct though for a cat to stalk birds. I wouldn't get a cage on a stand cause the cat may knock it over and the birds could get hurt or the cage could come apart making the birds an easy target, try hanging the cage from the ceiling, good luck!
