Can tetra fish live in a regular gl bowl?

hi i have ordered several neon tetra and several green tetra fish and a new aquarium from 2 different shops, the fish will be ready a day before the tank and the shop is closing for holidays, i have a large fish bowl that i had my gold fish in and was going to use this to keep them in over night, will this be ok if i use the water from the shop to fill it for a night, the girl in the shop couldn't advise me
