A question for concerned Americans / Westerners, I need your opinion, PLEASE?

Actually they are geared towards preventing the effects, which would be attacks. It would be nice if we could deal with the cause because ultimately to eradicate a particular form of terrorism you must remove the root cause. The problem though, especially in the case of Islamic Fundamentalists is that we cannot remove the cause without providing the eventual goal. Since this goal is unacceptable to the western world it is not a realistic hope. You cannot reason with people who want you subservient to their religion or dead. If you cannot reason with them then you cannot remove the mindset which creates them in the first place.
