Can I put my itunes songs on my blackberry curve 8310?

I want to put my itunes songs on my new pda, but I don't know if it will work because I believe those are MPEG 4 not MP3 downloads. I also heard that I can rip songs from my cds and put those on my blackberry curve. Is that true? I want to know before I spend money on buying a memory card.
